Vacature bij ExpORL: Zelfstandig academisch personeel in de logopedie.
Ever wonder how listening to a story could help us diagnose aphasia? In this short video, ExpORL researcher Jill Kries explains how her PhD work aims to do that.
From story listening to EEG-based algorithms, the development of a fast and automatic diagnostic tool for aphasia could be really helpful for individuals who have suffered a stroke and experience difficulties with communication and declining quality of life.
You can find more information about Jill and her research here (NL/EN).
Join us next week for Pint of Science Belgium 🍺 with a contribution from our very own Ben Somers, a postdoctoral researcher at ExpORL.
Ben will talk about recent lab efforts to combine audiology with brainwaves to improve hearing technology. Breaking down topics from neuroscience and diagnostics to new applications such as smarter hearing aids, this is the place to hear all about the future of hearing rehabilitation!
This event is free of charge and open to all — you can just join the Youtube live stream, no registration required! You can read more about the event and other science talks here.
